3 places of food note

If you find yourself in Newtown or Erskineville and are looking for some tasty cheap eats here are just 3 places I recommend -

Erskineville & Alexandria Bowling Club for Chinese thats fresh, quick and tasty
Istanbul on King - for a bloody great kebab day and night and well worth the hike to the city end of King
and Newtown Thai (or Newtown Thai II) not to be confused with the other 53 Thai restaurants, on King St, both of these are up the city end near the Marly Bar, best Thai with no fuss

if ya have any other good suggestions people please feel free to post em on the comments attached to this wee note

2 birthdays, 2 games of footy, and a dash of lawn bowls

Happy 30th Kate and Happy 35th Sam
With lots of party preparations to do I was beginning to panic Id not see any of the Swans game against West Coast Eagles, but alas meat and salads all delivered to the Erko Bowlo It was time to get a tasty beverage from the bar and get settled to watch a bloody good game of footy. Which had me on the edge of my stool right down to the last seconds. And for the first time since 1933 the Swans won the grandfinal! Lap it up Sydney, and lets hope that we are not waiting as long before the next one. Go the Swaneys!
So anyway back to the party, barefoot lawn bowls are a great laugh and its no wonder that so many old people are out and about sinking a few schooies and bowling, not sure who won, who cares, very funny stuff, hey Ty thought you were suppossed to be at a wedding??
Then the next game of footy was about to kick off in the NRL, St George and Wests Tigers, cant say Ive any real interest in the ol NRL, but was happy to see the Tigers go thru, so with some of the party punters glues to the game the rest of us enjoyed what was a great party.
Hard to believe your 30 Kate, seems like not that long ago we were Irish dancing in your courtyard at Bateau for your 21st. The years are passing and Im happy to be able to share them with you, Happy Birthday maaaate! And you too Sam, Happy Birthday, many happy returns. Just think another 5 years and we will be celebrating your 40th Sam and Kate's 35th! Scary stuff.

If it would just start... Sydney to Cairns (maybe)

When Jacinta planned on having an adventure travelling up the East coast with Siobhan, Im not sure that the continual stop and starting of the Van was part of the plan. "Ah sure Its an experience" said Siobhan of the 1976 Nissan Camper.

That it certainly is, pity the ol van didn't wanna start every time it was parked. Peggy was planning on getting a wee spin down Terrigal, but it was not to be, with book in hand and the battery flat as a tack, this is not an experince that Id be wishing on anyone. They finally got motoring and are expecting to get to Cairns.

6 Hours north of Terrigal, day 3 into the journey Im sorry to report that the van has been retired and the hire car has now come into play, at least they will get to Cairns now. Best of luck girls and enjoy the experience.

Root of my problems

well after months of no energy and bout of illness after illness I finally managed to get myself a blood test, and you will be all pleased to know that Im as healthy as my new tomato and capsicum plant...

so why no energy and all the courses of antibiotics?? oh thats easy, you see I was mis diagnosed for tonsilitus and every other viral infection going when the real problem was a case of glandula fever, not good, but at least now I know and even though the energy is still crap and im in bed early most nights, I do know that Im not cracking up. Few more months and there will be no stopping me, until then early to bed and early to rise and plenty of nanna naps in between.
