There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out

Its funny how a song, even just a sentence from a song can bring back so many memories and take you to another place...

When I hear The Smiths, I smile. A deep smile that brings back both happy and sad memories and a sound that is forever etched in me.

Take me out tonight
Where there's music and there's people
And they're young and alive
Driving in your car I never never want to go home
Because I haven't got one Anymore

Take me out tonight
Because I want to see people and
I Want to see life Driving in your car
Oh, please don't drop me home
Because it's not my home, it's theirHome,
and I'm welcome no more

And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten-ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well, the pleasure - the privilege is mine

Take me out tonight
Take me anywhere, I don't care
I don't care, I don't care
And in the darkened underpass
I thought Oh God, my chance has come at last
(But then a strange fear gripped me and I Just couldn't ask)

Take me out tonight
Oh, take me anywhere, I don't care
I don't care, I don't care
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I haven't got one, da ...
Oh, I haven't got one

And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten-ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well, the pleasure - the privilege is mine

Oh, There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out
There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out
There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out
There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out
There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out
There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out
There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out
There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out
There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out

Ok so Ive found my calling...

....if i go missing, well I may just be farming mini donkeys!

Last year in Nz i seen a very small donkey, surprised it was fully grown I inquired after the breed and found out that there is in fact a breed of miniature donkeys just like Shetland ponies.
Miniature donkeys are native to the Mediterranean islands of Sicily and Sardinia. They are identified as either Sicilian or Sardinian donkeys according to their ancestry and hey I think Im ready to adopt and raise a few of the little fellows.

Miniature Donkey Facts

Life Span:Average — 25 - 35+ years

Weight: 200 - 350 pounds at maturity

Height:Average 32" - 34" at the withers, maximum 36"

Gestation:11-1/2 - 13 months

Birth: Single baby, averages 20-30 pounds at birth. Foals are up and nursing within 30 minutes and are weaned between 5-6 months of age.

Reproduction:Male donkeys are referred to as "jacks," female donkeys are "jennets," and baby donkeys are called "foals".Jennets should not be bred until they are physically mature at approximately 3 years of age. They have heat cycles every 18-21 days throughout most of the year.

Health: Miniature Donkeys are remarkably hardy and healthy. They do require preventative vaccinations, should be wormed regularly, and have their hooves trimmed every 2-3 months.

Color:Miniature Donkeys are predominantly grey-dun with the characteristic "cross." They also come in darker shades of grey, brown, black, sorrel, white and spotted. Usually they have light tan markings around their muzzle and eyes, known as "points". However, some have dark points.

Milk @ The Harp - Tempe

If asked how I could best describe 'Milk' I would have to say that this band is...
Well Im not exactly sure. The problem is you see how I catorgorise music and the how the rest of the world catorgorise music is very different, maybe id slot them in between The Murmurs and The Waifs, just down from Cat Power.

Hey I don't wanna put these girls in a box, there music is there own and should be left to speak for itself, and that is does. Perhaps I should leave the music criticism and gig reviews to the professionals.

Helen Begley and Emily Hayes do put on a good show, a mixture of folk, blues and a touch of gospel. Songs about asylum seekers, whores, truckies and factory workers are touching, thought provoking and in this day and age 'Milk' will never run out of things to say as we enter this "Dictatorship that is the Howard govt". Don't be turned off by these heavy topics, the music is delivered in a such a way as it leaves you wanting more and angry at the state of society. Plus any band that uses an accordion gets extra credit in my book, the sultry 'Miss M' a true crowd pleaser.

Of course 'Milk" had some help in Sydney. Always did love the Harp as a venue, and support acts from local Sydney girl Behiye proved a great opener as did next act vocalist/guitarist Cara Grainger whose voice took me on a voyage of American/Irish country with an Aussie twist. This truly was a great afternoon gig, if you get the chance to hear Bridie King and Stephie Marchet, don't miss it, Bridie is a true entertainer in every sense and Stephie has a beautiful powerful voice that made the hairs stand on the back of my neck, belting out soul, blues and gospel, this young women can sing! All these women can sing!

Loretta V's Her Own Tonsils!!

Tonsils 3 ~ Loretta 0

Im so over being sick, seems to be a running theme with me this year, and Ive lost count how many times the ol tonsils have floored me.

This time has to be the worse, with absolutely no energy and having slept constantly since last Wednesday. Even the doctor after I managed to drag myself there yesterday was pretty impressed with my high temp and tonsils that he has put me on yet another strong dose of antibiotocs. Oh yay, I just love em.

Have you got the feeling Im not a very good ill person? But I was a bit intrigued as to what the doctor did see, so with the mini mag lite and a teaspoon and decided to have a look for myself, I was so impressed with what I seen I did attempt to take a photo and share the ugly mess that is my left tonsil with you all, however I kept fogging up the camera lens. How bout I just leave it to your imagination then.

I hope that none of you suffer with tonsils like I do. What are they for anyway?? check the above link for a quick run down if your half way interested.
